Jen Corace gave me a pile of library discards to turn into journals and sketchbooks for her a few years ago. I just recently presto-changoed one book whose former occupation was as a Spanish language textbook.

I decided to try out some edge-painting over foil-stamping which I sanded for some good color/texture. I also hand-sewed the headbands. Apparently my eagerness to experiment a few times and then get right to the sketchbook distracted me from documenting most of that process.

The text block is made up of Arches hot press and vellum interleaving. I tucked in a sheet from the original grammar book to one of the signatures to keep it spicy.
