Test Kitchen
Trying out some new packaging for my Buttonhole journals and photo albums to sell at Craftland this season. I wanted something that would both protect the books from the grubby paws of humankind, and add to the giftiness of them – but also allow the book to be visible to the shopper.
I sliced out windows in the boxes to showcase the cover designs of the books. Made a vector frame on the computer, and cut bookcloth with my e-lec-tronic die-cutting machine. Popped the bookcloth frames into the Xyron Pro 1255 to apply adhesive. Then cut out some clear plastic to cover the window and applied the frame.
I also added some explanatory labels to the edges so that the styles would be visible when stacked in the store for those shoppers lacking Extra Sensory Perception.
- Soundtrack: Julee Cruise – Floating Into The Night; a ridiculous amount of Simon & Garfunkel; Minutemen – Double Nickels on the Dime; Marine Girls – Lazy Ways / Beach Party
