Placing an order online is easy as pie!
All books are made by hand, so please allow us 5-10 days before shipping. Your order will be sent via US Postal Service Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Sometimes rush orders can be accomodated. Please email email@example.com if you have a custom request for your order, or to specify a rush.
Shipping is just a flat $5 for within the US (sent Priority Mail), so stock up! INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING is $10 and is sent via USPS Global Priority Mail. See if your country accepts Global Priority Mail here.
As with all international shipping, it's possible you may have to pay additional taxes, duties and other customs-related charges when you receive your package (though with each package, we do send along good vibes that aim to elude these surcharges, if that helps).
If you'd like to send a gift, you can specify different shipping and billing addresses. Please note it in the Comments About Your Order box during checkout. That way we can send you a receipt. And let us know if you would like a gift card enclosed for the recipient. Fun! Fun! Fun!
We pride ourselves on the quality of our handmade goods. That said, since we are not robots or machines, slight quirky differences can sometimes occur as is the nature of handmade products - and we think that helps to make them even more valuable and unique! We want you to love your brand new purchase. If you'd like to return/exchange an item, please email us within 14 days after your PURCHASE date to state your case and wait for our detailed instructions before return shipping. Kindly note: shipping charges are not refundable.

Deb Dormody had tried all the get-rich-quick schemes. None of them worked until she created If'n Books + Marks in 2000 when she started making blank journals and photo albums by hand. Now, she's loaded.
As the youngest of 8 kids, Dormody had plenty of time to sit in a corner and take apart old books to examine how they were made while her older siblings were busy feathering their hair with large plastic combs, and adjusting their cowl neck sweaters in so many shades of tan, and getting into trouble in the Pinto.
Not to be confused with a bookmaker (who makes more money placing bets), this bookbinder credits her public high school art teacher with exposing her to the magical world of bookbinding. Deb continued her studies in college, and post-college, and a stint with a master binder. It seems to have taken.
As the 20th century caved into the year 2000, Deb decided to leave behind her work for other companies as a marketing director for a gift gallery and program director for some non-profits and go full-time with the books. She now sells her books to about 200 very smart stores around the country.
Her continuous search for unique book coverings led her to commission fancypants artists to create exclusive designs for her that are not seen anywhere else. This collaboration helps strengthen the network of independent artists and provides a terrific opportunity for her to pawn off some of the designing on somebody else for a change.
While she is sometimes disappointed that no elves or robots have done her work for her overnight, she is always happy to arrive at her bindery everyday and work many hours while listening to good music. She's still waiting for the Crafter's Snack Cart to show up at lunchtime though. Beep-beep!
The If'n Books + Marks studio is in Providence, Rhode Island. We make each book by hand using vintage and contemporary equipment that is beautiful unto itself.
